Kiani Sato Oil Spill

A cargo ship headed for the Turkish Gabon spilled more than 15 tons of fuel into the sea in August 2013, near the Nature Reserve Goukamma at Buffels Bay near Knysna. Xtreme Projects assisted in the spill clean up to help lessen the damaging effect the oil spill had on the environment. The Xtreme team began cleanup operations where the coasts had been reached by the fuel and the mouth of the river was blocked with sandbags.
