Xtreme Projects Marine Division was established after a niche in the market was identified in 2006. The marine division has since expanded from emergency response to Port Elizabeth harbour spills, to oil spill response, oil rig environmental protection, shipping spills, and pollution containment, man overboard watch, ship salvage, off port limit services, dredging, work boats and barge services and cleaning both nationally and internationally.

Our Marine Division is fully equipped with the following:

• Rapid response vessels.
• Work Boats and Barges.
• Containment boom manufacturing facility.
• Oil response units for deployment to any site.
• Fully qualified skippers with SAMSA Tickets. 

Our Marine Division amounts to 24 years of sea experience, varying from Merchant Navy to Rigid Inflatables in some of the most extreme conditions at sea. With a fully qualified FRC Coxswain, as well as a Level 3 Advanced first response team, we ensure that we are more than experienced and qualified to handle any emergency marine responses.
 

Marine Division offers the following services:

1.Off Port Limit Services (OPL)

Xtreme Projects Off Port Limit services which include the supplier of provisions, urgent deliveries, spares and supplies, which may need to be transported to or from the ship when it is unable to port. This also helps avoid unnecessary delays and expenses.

2. Man Overboard Rescue

We assist in the emergency response of Man Overboard situations where the ships crew members may have fallen overboard. 

3. Boom Deployment

Our containment booms are a temporary floating barriers used to contain an oil spill. The booms are used to reduce the possibility of polluting shorelines and other resources which help to make recovery easier.

4. Global Environmental Cleaning

Xtreme Projects offer a Global Environmental Cleaning service to assist in waste management, industrial cleanings, such as sewerage treatment, odour control, bioremediation, fire restoration, spill response and environmental cleanup on both land and sea.

5. Work Boats and Barge Services

Xtreme Projects offer salvage, emergency response and towing services, Site Mobilization, along with much more, which we regularly perform with our vessels.

6. Ship Salvage

We assist in the process of recovering a ship and its cargo after a shipwreck or other maritime casualties. When assisting the ship salvage another important priority is protecting the coastal environment from spillage of oil or other contaminants which is one of our first priorities. We have a dedicated crew and specialist equipment to assist in various types of ship salvage and have also been involved in large salvages which include the Costa Concordia Shipwreck which we helped to successfully refloat a stricken ship off the Italian coast.
